Kawaii Stegosaurus on a Skateboard

Kawaii Stegosaurus on a Skateboard

What happens when a 4year old gets to ask for a t-shirt design? Actually she requested two designs…. The first request was a stegosaurus riding a skateboard and the second is a shark riding a skateboard. The next requirement was that there would be no pink in the design. I am trying to improve my vector illustration work and am quite happy with how skatosaurus turned out. He was drawn in Adobe illustrator and I used for the very first time my new XP-pen 13.3 Pro display tablet. I will write a separate review of this tablet soon, but so far I am very happy with it. I ordered here one in blue and will update with shots of Astrid wearing it when it arrives next week. Surprisingly enough, she preferred the blue t-shirt to the black one :). Here are some more images of the illustration of the cute dinosaur on a skateboard on some other products. These are available at my redbubble store.

Free Pokemon Colouring Page - Coloured in Pencil

Pokemon Doodle Drawing I’ve been drawing a lot of pokemon lately, for the longest time I was totally obsessed with the Niantic Pokemon Go game on my phone. I played so much that the last 2 android handsets that I have owned have screen burn with the pokemon ball at the bottom of the screen from having the game open so much. For christmas 2019 my team bought me a Gotcha Evolve which upped my obsession quite a bit and I was up to level 38 in the game (at the time the maximum level was 40, but I think it has changed now). Then around September 2020 I lost the Gotcha and stopped playing for quite a while. I keep getting we miss you trainer messages from Niantic and just recently clicked on it and caught some new cuties that were not in my pokedex. Then I started doing my usual kawaii doodle illustrations and decided to do one with grass type pokemon. I’ve been reading lots of bad dad puns lately so I decided to add “we’re unbealeafable” to the top of the kawaii illustration. I sketched using one of my uni kuru toga pencils (I have two one with HB graphite and one with H7 graphite). I inked using my uni pin fineliner 0.2 and a copic multiliner 0.5 for the thicker lines. My Kawaii pokemon colouring page features: I’m linking to the pokedex entry for each of the cute pokemon featured in the image below, so…

How to Fill out a Dungeons and Dragons Character Sheet

Large D20 with Stuffed Dragon Dice Holder

Where to start when staring at a blank dungeons and dragons character sheet Hopefully this scenario is filling you with joy not dread. Creating your own character or filling out the details of your character into a sheet, can start to fuel your role playing imagination. Your character’s back story will begin to solidify itself in your mind, when you are levelling up your character and filling out your sheet again it will also serve to remind you of character traits you might have forgotten about or give you extra ideas for how your character would behave as they progress through the campaign. These instructions can be used to fill out any blank character sheet, but the order of filling out the fields in this entry is about filling out my printable and fillable A5 dungeons and dragons character sheet, available for sale below and in my store. If it is dread, how about asking someone who loves forms or character creation to help you out? What you will need to Fill out your 5e Fillable Character Sheet A copy of the Player’s Handbook (optional) A blank character sheet (available below) A full set of polyhedral dice (optional) Your character’s main stats If you don’t have a copy of the player’s handbook you can head on over to dndbeyond and use their character builder for free, but it only includes basic classes and if you want to use some character backgrounds or different classes, you are expected to purchase an…

Dungeons and Dragons Baby Onesies

Dungeons and Dragons Themed Onesies

I want to buy a Dungeons and Dragons Baby shower gift, but I don’t play… Your dilemma is about how you know what to purchase for your role-playing friends who are about to have a baby when you don’t know much about dungeons and dragons. Don’t worry I’m not going to teach you how (if that is why you came here, I am not the teacher you seek, try online here or ask your friends if you can join in on their next campaign); but I will explain the two designs I have created below and why they would appeal to the gamer geeks in your life who need dungeons and dragons baby stuff. Dungeons and Dragons Class A class in dnd is a bit like your job description, if you were a character making a Linked in profile then your class would sum up your skills and abilities. Typical classes for characters include fighters, clerics and wizards. So in the first of my designs, I’ve created a new class: Infant, that showcases the skills and abilities of the wearer of said nerdy onesie. Dungeons and Dragons Alignments Alignments in dnd is an overarching view of your character’s core values. Half of your alignment talks about your morality (these are good, evil or neutral) and the other about how you view and interact with society and the governance in the world you live in (lawful, neutral or chaotic). The nine options that combine one choice from the morality bucket with…

How much does it cost to register a domain name in Australia – Don’t pay more than $20AUD

Details of Letter from Australian Domain Registrar

This is a public service announcement, recently I re-activated my ABN (Australian Business Number) – this service is free for both a new ABN and to re-activate. Do not pay for it, there are businesses out there who charge for this. If you can type and you know your name or your company name you can do it. I am a sole-trader, I can run my business under my own name, but I wanted to trade as Qski,I needed to register a business name, this cost $37AUD per year, do not pay more than this, it is a simple straight forward process (as long as that business name is available and can legally be a business name). The Australian government provides a great work-flow style website that walks you through the whole process. Do I need an ABN to register a domain in Australia If you want to register a commercial domain name the answer is yes (.com.au or .net.au). There are non-commercial domain names available (I had a .id.au domain for years), but you can not make money under that domain. Once you register your business name, domain name registrars (companies who sell domain names) have access to your information and several will send you letters – I have received 3, the letters look like a bill and offer to register your domain name – your company.com or your company.com.au – Frankly at ridiculous prices. I tore up two previous letters, disgusted by this because I had already bought…

Kawaii Q Doodle

Kawaii Monogrammed Q Doodle Coloured with Colour Pencils

In a recent post, I described my creative journey and showed some kawaii doodles that I did around 2015 What have I been doing lately? I wanted to do another one with the doodles as an illuminated letter. Naturally, I chose to use a Q. If you didn’t know my name is Quanita, everyone just calls me Q. It’s not as unusual as even I thought; one place I worked at they had to call me Q2 because there was already a Q that worked there; and this also happened in a social circle I joined a while back because they also already had a Q. With me this started because nobody would say my name correctly, eventually someone called me Q and it stuck. Here is the pencil sketch, with some of the inking commenced and the completed inked doodle. I use uni pin fine liners (usually 0.2) and ironlak fine liners for inking and my favourite pencil (I have 1 using HB and one using 4H graphite) is the Uni Kuru Toga I thought it would be fun if I used 3 different methods to colour in the Kawaii doodle monogram. Doodle Coloured Digitally I used Adobe Photoshop CS6 to do the colouring for the version below. Doodle Coloured in Coloured Pencils The materials I used for colouring this version are listed below. I love the Qili coloured pencils, I bought them from someone who orders Chinese products online and sells them locally here on Facebook marketplace, I…

Journey to Kawaii

Lots of Cats Kawaii Doodle

Childhood Academic prowess was highly valued in my family. Showing an interest in anything that didn’t end in achieving a good grade in the ‘pure science’ stream in our education system was actively discouraged. Even though I was always trying to be creative I was never allowed to even entertain that side of me let alone indulge it. I’m amused by this now because there is so much research around how intellectual growth needs to be balanced and that children who learn both science and arts experience more growth than those, (like me), who did not. Later on A lot of that is very painful and it’s difficult not to be resentful about it. It was also difficult to, as an adult, give myself permission to feed my creative side. Sub-consciously I was prohibiting it just as much as it was prohibited when I was growing up. As a consequence, I had waves of dabbling in creative pursuits here and there. Other emotional hang-ups also stopped me from making this a high priority in my life. Over the years I ‘played’ with art, drawing, quilting, miniatures, painting, digital scrapbooking and lots of similar hobbies. Circa 2015 Around 2015 I started drawing again. It was then I started to really be drawn to kawaii and cute illustrations as well as doodling of all kinds. I play around a lot with zentangle and probably did every kawaii and chibi tutorial available on Youtube.I also wanted to be able to colour my illustrations…
